Cold Plunge Parties

On October 25th we’re getting together across Canada and L.A. for cold plunge events with lots of extras to spread awareness and raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation. Bring your friends and family and take a dip for a good cause.

Check Yourself

According to the BC Cancer Foundation, there has been an over 25% reduction in deaths from breast cancer for people who get screened regularly. There is a 92% survival rate for those facing breast cancer when diagnosed at an early stage. Keep up with your annual mammograms, recommended when you hit your 40s or have symptoms or a family history, and perform regular self exams. Early detection saves lives.

No One Fights Alone

IN MEMORY OF NATALIE

On October 20, 2022, we lost our dear friend and teammate Natalie to her long time battle with breast cancer. Natalie was an incredible friend, wife, sister, stepmom, athlete, and breast cancer warrior. Every year we join our fundraising partner BC Cancer Foundation in our commitment to continuing Natalie‘s legacy. Cancer is relentless but so are we.

Meet Kristy

Kristy Maynes is LOF’s Strategic Advisor. Her journey began with her sister, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. Through her diagnosis, they discovered she carried a hereditary gene making her 60% more likely to get breast cancer. Kristy did not share that gene; however, six months later during a routine mammogram, they discovered a fast-growing cancerous tumor and diagnosed her with breast cancer. Kristy underwent two lumpectomies, four months of chemo, and is now in remission. She credits her sister’s diligence and getting checked for possibly saving her own life.

Meet Andrea

Andrea Cameron is a Product Engineer here at LOF. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 39, after seeing a doctor about her inverted nipple and chest pains. She was able to catch her cancer at stage 2, and after many rounds of radiation and chemo, currently manages her health with medication. She is an advocate for using your voice and listening to your body. If she was leaving on a Friday, she would go somewhere new for the first time.
